Clayton Krauss, Jaden Henline and Cole Wagner (l-r) celebrate after defeating Pearland, Texas on Wednesday, August 26, 2015 to advance to the U.S. Championship of the Little League World Series.
(South Williamsport) — Red Land Little League is going to the U.S. Championship.
A stellar night on the mound from Adam Cramer secured the victory over Pearland from Texas
Cramer struck out a career-high 13 Pearland batters, and Jaden Henline came in the sixth to finish off the victory with three more, as Red Land shut out Pearland 3-0.
“I didn’t really have any nerves because I knew I’d get some run support,” says Cramer.
“And I think I did pretty much my best.”
No Pearland batter got past second base during the entire game.
“I can’t say enough about him. To have 13 strikeouts out of 15 outs – he had a ground ball back to him and a fly ball to center field, that was it – pretty incredible,” says Red Land manager Tom Peifer.
Cramer said he knew he was going to have a good night after he got through the second inning and already had four strikeouts.
Meanwhile, Red Land’s Cole Wagner knocked yet another home run – his 24th of the tournament – and a couple singles and a hit batter added up to three runs for the Patriots.
They next play in the U.S. Championship Saturday at 3:30 p.m.
If they win, they’ll play the international champion Sunday.
