Three sites in York County added to heritage program

(York) — Three new sites have been added to the York County Heritage Program, which highlights places that make the county unique.
The board of the York County Planning Commission approved the three sites on Monday evening.
The new sites are:
Camp Security in Springettsbury Township: This is the site of a prisoner of war camp during the American Revolution. Colonists held British prisoners of war at Camp Security, which included a high fence and a village site referred to as Camp Indulgence.
The Stewartstown Railroad in Stewartstown: The railroad, founded in 1884, transported agricultural goods to market years ago and offers a scenic tour of southern York County today.
The Horn Farm Center in Hellam Township: The farm has been owned by the county since the early 1980s, and portions of the 186-parcel have been farmed for more than 300 years. It shares the county’s rich agricultural history and traditions with visitors.
The York County Planning Commission accepts applications annually for the sites, according to the website.
