Lancaster General ranked top hospital in the midstate

(Harrisburg) — An annual national report ranks a handful of midstate hospitals as some of the best in the state.
Lancaster General ranks first among midstate hospitals on the U.S. News and World Report Best Hospitals list, and finishes fifth among all hospitals in the state.
Penn State Hershey Medical Center is listed at seventh, and PinnacleHealth ranks eighth.
The list, which some have criticized for failing to capture a patient’s full experience, compares success rates for both complex surgeries and more common procedures.
It ranks the Hospitals of the University of Pennsylvania as tops in the state.
