(Biglerville) — The estate of Biglerville icon Marion Thomas Harbaugh, owner of Thomas Bros. Country Store, will be up for auction July 17 and 18.

Harbaugh, a well known philanthropist in the community, died May 9 at the age of 91. The auction is of items from her personal collection, not from her store.

“She has a wonderful collection of antiques,” said Randy Dickensheets, owner of Pa. OnSite Auction Co., who will be the auctioneer for this event. “She’s rubbed elbows over the years with some pretty big people.”

Some of the items for sale include a concert harp, furniture that dates back to the 1700s and an old flag that says “Stars and Stripes Forever” on it, Dickensheets said.

The auction will take place outside Harbaugh’s Biglerville home, 161 West York St., with both days beginning at 8:30 a.m.

A preview viewing of her estate will also take place at her residence July 12 from 1 to 4 p.m., as well as right before the start of the bidding wars July 17.

The fate of the items in Harbaugh’s store has not yet been determined, Dickensheets said.
