A local paper tube manufacturer is doubling the size of its Hanover-area location.

Yazoo Mills, which has facilities near New Oxford and Hanover, plans to add 45,000 square feet to its Hanover-area manufacturing and distribution center, according to a news release.

Planning for the expansion started early in 2014, and 30 positions were added in preparation, the release states. The company does not have any additional job openings planned for 2015.

Yazoo plans to break ground on the expansion in late April, and the project is targeted to be completed by August, according to the release. When completed, Yazoo will operate two facilities totaling 240,000 square feet.

The company opened in 1902 and is a nationwide supplier of 100 percent recycled paper tubes, the release states. The Hanover-area distribution center opened three years ago.
