Beer deliveries running smoothly in Pa., says LCB chairman

(Harrisburg) — Beer deliveries are now a reality in Pennsylvania.

The system is running smoothly, according to the chairman of the Liquor Control Board.

Tim Holden says the LCB tried to make the guidelines as simple as possible.

“The results and the feedback that we’ve received from that have been pretty positive. I think it’s consumer friendly, and the board, we believe it was the right thing to do. We believe that we acted within the law, and we think it’s a good consumer convenience,” says Holden.

Holden says both the people delivering and receiving the beer must be at least 21 years old.

The driver is also required to verify the age of whoever is buying the suds.

Deliveries can take place at any time, but must be paid for in advance.

No more than 12 beers can be delivered at one time, but it can come with food or any other item.
