What to look for on Smart Talk Friday, April 3, 2015:

Pennsylvania Attorney General Kathleen Kane may or may not face criminal charges.  The state Supreme Court ruled this week that a special prosecutor, who investigated whether Kane leaked secret grand jury information to a newspaper, was legally appointed.  Kane had challenged the special prosecutor’s appointment.

Montgomery County District Attorney Risa Vetri Ferman will now decide whether perjury and other charges are warranted against the attorney general — charges that were recommended by another grand jury.

WITF’s Capitol Bureau Chief Mary Wilson appears on Friday’s Smart Talk to provide background and information on what happens next during Capitol-Week-in-Review.

Also, Passover — one of the most sacred Jewish holidays begins Friday at sundown.  Passover commemorates the emancipation of the Israelites from slavery in Egypt.  We’ll learn more about the eight day festival on Friday’s program from Dr. Ted Merwin, Associate Professor of Religion and Judiac Studies at Dickinson College.

Finally, the 2015 U.S. Women’s Open Golf Championship will be played at the Lancaster Country Club July 9-12.  More than 100,000 spectators are expected to attend.  The tournament could generate more than $25 million for the local economy.

Barry Deach, championship director for the U.S. Women’s Open joins on Smart Talk to discuss the prestigious event.
