(Harrisburg) — The state Public Utility Commission is giving a major electrical supplier in the midstate 60 days to come up with a more detailed plan addressing customer service and operational issues.

The initial plan developed by First Energy Pennsylvania, which includes Met-ed, Penelec, Penn Power and West Penn Power, didn’t meet the PUC’s demands.

PUC commissioners also voted to require First Energy to submit reports tracking the effectiveness of the plan for the next three years.

The PUC estimates with some changes, the utility could realize a $19 million savings, and with an additional $4 million savings annually.
