Dollars for dairy products campaign underway
(Harrisburg) — The Farm Show has the usual popular attractions — the food court, cooking demonstrations, and the butter sculpture.
But this year, there’s also a chance to give back to those who need it, through the “Fill a Glass with Hope” campaign.
Dave Smith, executive director of the state’s Dairymen’s Association, says bad luck can affect everyone.
“Health and job situations can easily lead to economic hardships, which limit their ability to secure essentials like dairy products,” says Smith.
The association has set a goal of $100,000 by Saturday, with donation containers spread throughout the Farm Show Complex in Harrisburg.
Corporate donations have already pushed the total to more than $42,000.
