(Harrisburg) — A New York-based maker of baby diapers and wipes plans to expand its operations in Mifflin County, creating 150 jobs.

First Quality Baby Products plans to invest more than $25 million to increase its manufacturing and warehousing capacity in Lewistown. Its operations currently have 350 workers.

“By partnering with the private sector, we’re creating a stronger Pennsylvania where our economy is growing and people are finding jobs,” Governor Corbett said in a statement. “We are encouraging new growth by providing critical access to capital to support 150 new jobs in Mifflin County.”

The state Industrial Development Authority will provide a $2,250,000, 15-year, low-interest loan at 2.25 percent to the Mifflin County Industrial Development Corporation on behalf of First Quality.

The authority provides capital for building acquisition, construction and renovation work, for operations like manufacturers, industrial developers, research and development firms and employers interested in establishing national or regional headquarters in the commonwealth.
