Quiz: Can you spell words on the 2014 Central PA Spelling Bee written test?

About 135 spellers representing 62 schools from 10 counties in central Pennsylvania gathered on January 26 and took a 100-word written test at the witf Public Media Center in Harrisburg.

No more than thirty-six of the top spellers will advance to the Grand Championship Spelling Bee on February 22. While competing onstage at the witf Public Media Center. These spellers will rely on their hours of studying and understanding of a word’s origins to avoid the dreaded bell signaling they are wrong and out.

Below is a quiz consisting of words taken from the 2014 written test. Do you think you can spell as well as these students? See if you can pick the correctly spelled word from the four options!

You can watch the contest on witf TV, Sunday, February 23 at 5:30 p.m. with rebroadcasts on Wednesday, February 26 at 7 p.m. and Friday, February 28 at 1 p.m.
