(Harrisburg) — The National Weather Service in State College is predicting snowfall starting this morning in the midstate, but the snowfall totals won’t be the same across the region.

Areas north of Harrisburg could reach up to 8 inches, while the Harrisburg area will be closer to 3-5 inches, and the Lancaster area could get as little as 2 inches throughout the day.

Some schools and organizations have cancelled events today.

PENNDOT is warning drivers that because of the rapid snowfall predicted, some roads may not be completely clear of ice and snow. They recommend that only those who need to take a trip get on the road.

Road conditions through PENNDOT are updated here.
