Smart Talk: What do you need to know about end-of-year finances and tax planning?
What to look for on Smart Talk Monday, December 16, 2013:
It is that time of year when many of us will be thinking about money and not just what we’re spending on the holidays.
With just a little over two weeks left in 2013, end-of-year finances and tax planning may be priorities.
A short list could include:
- Accelerating or deferring income.
- Accelerating or deferring expenses that can be used for tax deductions or tax credits.
- Taking advantage of any tax provisions that are scheduled to expire at the end of the year
Two Certified Public Accountants will appear on Monday’s Smart Talk. Jennifer Witmer, a CPA with Boyer & Ritter in Camp Hill and Jared Miller, a CPA Reinsel Kuntz Lesher in Lancaster will answer your questions about the late filing season, tax planning for next year, and a higher threshold for deducting medical expenses.
