Car Insurance Questions Answered

Pennsylvania motorists have been required to have insurance when driving their cars, trucks or motorcycles since the early 1990s. More than 20 years later, many of us get our insurance invoice in the mail, see how much we have to pay, and write a check without giving it a second thought.

Maybe we should though. When was the last time you checked to see what’s covered under your policy if your vehicle is involved in an accident? What legal options do you have if your car is damaged in a crash? What insurance choices do you have for better coverage or possibly save money?

These are questions we’ll answer on Tuesday’s Smart Talk with attorney David Pollick of the Dale E. Anstine Law Office and insurance agent Andrew Enders of Enders Insurance Associates.

Escape Fire starts with this premise: American healthcare costs are rising so rapidlythat they could reach $4.2 trillion annually, roughly 20% of our gross domestic product, within tenyears. We spend $300 billion a year on pharmaceutical drugs––almost as much as the rest of the worldcombined. We pay more, yet our health outcomes are worse. About 65% of Americans are overweightand almost 75% of healthcare costs are spent on preventable diseases that are the major causes of disabilityand death in our society.
