Open House at the Pennsylvania College of Art & Design

Prospective students can get a closer look at the different classes and degree programs being offered by the Pennsylvania College of Art and Design at an Admission Open House on Saturday, November 16, from 11 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.

The school began in 1982 after York Academy of Arts closed its doors. A number of faculty and supporters from that school came together to establish what was then called the Pennsylvania School of the Arts in Marietta. The school outgrew its facility and moved to downtown Lancaster in 1987. It has since been an important part of the burgeoning growth of the arts scene in Lancaster.

In 2010, PCA&D opened a new 9,200 square foot design center, dedicating it in 2012 as the Suzanne H. and Ronald D. Schrotberger Design Center.

The college offers BFA majors in fine art, graphic design, illustration, photography and beginning in the Fall of 2014, a new major in digital media.

The open house will allow prospective students to meet faculty members and current students as well as offer a chance to explore the facilities. Registration can be handled online at this link or by calling the admission office at 800-689-0379, ext. 1001.
