RST: Heroin look-alikes; Korean Armistice anniversary

What to look for on Radio Smart Talk Thursday, July 25th:

Fentanyl overdoses have been confirmed in at least 15-counties statewide, including five overdoses and one death in Lebanon County.

The prescription painkiller is being sold as – or laced with – heroin, but it’s actually 50 to 100 times more powerful than the illicit drug.

Thursday’s Radio Smart Talk discusses the fentanyl problem and the latest efforts to combat the sale and use of synthetic drugs across the commonwealth.

Our guests will be Cumberland County District Attorney David Freed, who was just elected president of the Pennsylvania District Attorneys Association, and Nina Hamilton, who lost two siblings to drug overdoses.

Also, the US Army Heritage and Education Center in Carlisle will commemorate the 60th anniversary of the signing of the Korean Armistice Agreement this coming Saturday morning.

We’ll discuss the ceremony as well as the actions of the 8th Airborne Ranger Company and 6th Medium Tank Battalion during the Chinese People’s Volunteer Army Spring Offensive, which will be the focus of a new Korean War Exhibit on the Army Heritage Trail.
