(Las Vegas) — Mayors from Pennsylvania cities large and small are gathered in Las Vegas this weekend for the US Conference of Mayors 81st Annual Meeting.

Chester Mayor John Linder says they can all benefit from the information being shared. “You have Philadelphia here. You have Los Angeles, California, Memphis, Tennessee, New Orleans, Cleveland, Detroit — all the same issues.”

Some of those issues include economic development and gun violence. The group is expected to again ask Congress to push for stronger background checks for gun purchases.

Philadelphia’s Michael Nutter is president of the US Conference of Mayors. Allentown’s Ed Pawlowski is also in attendance.
