COME VOLUNTEER WITH WITF!

Please consider one of the volunteer positions described below:

 

  • WITF-TV & WITF-FM Telephone Volunteers answer incoming calls during our annual membership campaigns. 
    • Time Commitment:  Approximately 8 pledge campaigns occur throughout the year, and shifts are generally one to three hours in length throughout the week.

 

  • WITF-TV & WITF-FM Pledge Supervisors help train and supervise telephone volunteers and record pledge data during our annual membership campaigns.
    • Time Commitment:  Approximately 8 pledge campaigns occur throughout the year, and shifts are generally one to three hours in length throughout the week.

             

  • WITF Archive Librarians review tapes of past WITF programs, enter information on each show into a collection database, and label the tapes following each archive.
    • Time Commitment: Any weekday for a minimum of one hour per week between 9 AM and 5 PM.  Shifts are flexible to accommodate volunteer availability and staff schedules.

 

  • Administrative Support Volunteers assist with educational activities, data entry, bulk mailing and more. 
    • Time Commitment:  Shifts are flexible to accommodate volunteer availability and subject to administrative needs.

 

  • WITF Receptionist Volunteers provide back up support for the WITF receptionist, answering phones and directing calls to appropriate staff.
    • Time Commitment:  Shifts are flexible to accommodate volunteer availability and subject to the receptionist’s needs.

 

  • Multi – Media Customer Service Volunteers provide data entry assistance through customer tracking and quarterly reports and enter events into a regional calendar.
    • Time Commitment:  Shifts are flexible any weekday from 9 AM to 5 PM to accommodate volunteer availability.  Duties could also be completed from home if there is access to the internet, a computer and a phone.

 

  • Production Assistants transcribe taped interviews and media log footage during WITF productions.
    • Time Commitment:  Shifts are flexible to accommodate volunteer availability and subject to the production department’s needs.

 

  • Special Event Volunteers serve as Ambassadors at WITF hosted events. 
    • Time Commitment:  Shifts are flexible to accommodate volunteer availability and subject to event staff needs.

 

  • Community Event Volunteers serve as WITF ambassadors at community events such as arts festivals, local concerts and many others. 
    • Time Commitment:  Shifts are flexible to accommodate volunteer availability and subject to the WITF event calendar.

 

  • Online Content Volunteers assist the Interactive Content staff through use of the internet, specifically social media applications.
    • Time Commitment:  Shifts are flexible to accommodate volunteer availability and subject to Interactive Content staff needs.

 

  • WITF Public Media Center Tour Guides engage groups of community members during a tour of the WITF Public Media Center, describing how WITF provides its many services to the community.   
    • Time Commitment:  Shifts are flexible to accommodate volunteer availability and the requests of tour groups.

 

  • WITF Smart Talk Radio Volunteers respond to listener phone calls and emails, assisting the FM production staff in producing this daily show.
    • Time Commitment:  Any weekday from 9 AM to 10 AM.  Shifts are flexible to accommodate volunteer availability and staff schedules.
